About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Florence. I’m French, but on my mother’s side, I have Polish and South African origins and at home we speak both French and English. Like most diplomats’ children, I was born, reared and educated abroad: I have lived in Japan, Australia, Canada, South Africa, the U.S. and Russia, as well as France.

After graduating from high school, I moved back to Paris to pursue my studies, and have been living here ever since. I have a Masters in English literature and my research on Modernist writer Rosamond Lehmann has led me to the archives of King’s College, Cambridge. I taught English for three years at Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle University (my alma mater). Now I teach both in high school and at the Sorbonne. I am currently finishing my first novel.

Hey! I remember you from Cape Town High School many years ago. 🙂

Seeing a little child walk to school this morning gave me the strongest feeling of nostalgia. Blazers, school, friends… I mentioned these and a few memories to a colleague on our drive in to work and she suggested I google you. It’s good to see that you’re well. Perhaps our paths will cross again one day during our travels.

I do miss your stories 🙂

My love to you and your family,
    Bashierah Arnold
